Starr McKinney
Owner
Starr McKinney is the president of Southern Starr Promotions, leading the company since 2013 with a focus on social media marketing, email campaigns, videography, and community-centered promotions. She founded Love Local Upstate to support and spotlight locally owned businesses across the region. With a background in education, property management, and radio marketing, she brings diverse experience to her work. Starr holds a BA in English and Education from UNC-Charlotte and is an active Chamber Ambassador in Oconee County. She and her husband Greg live in Keowee Key and enjoy traveling and spending time with their growing family.

Greg McKinney is a veteran of commercial radio, having held on-air and management positions at radio stations in Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia, and Charleston for some 45 years. His on-air work includes news anchor, sportstalk host, sports play-by-play, and on air personality for various music stations. He provides voiceover and audio editing services for Southern Starr Promotions clients from a home studio on Lake Keowee, SC.

A graduate of Full Sail University, Daniel brings a unique blend of technical skills and artistic vision to every project. His passion for innovative design shines through in his work as he explores the latest technologies to enhance his creative process, like using AI to write his staff bio for him.
